The next monthly meeting of the Northern Neck Audubon Society will be held Monday, February 4th, at the Northumberland County Library in Heathsville (7204 Northumberland Hwy, Heathsville). The guest speaker will be Ellison Orcott, the Northern Neck regional coordinator for the second Virginia Breeding Bird Atlas (VABBA2).

Blue Birds of Stratford Hall

This is a Stratford Hall event that’s sponsored by Northern Neck Audubon Society.

During this event participants will learn about the important role blue birds play in our ecosystem, how to construct their own bluebird house for their property, and hike along Stratford's property to  view the bluebird houses that the Virginia Blue Bird Society maintain at Stratford Hall.

Presentation: Waves, Tides, and Currents: What's Pushing the Waters Around in Virginia

Dr. Courtney Harris - Professor of Marine Science at the Virginia Institute of Marine Science (VIMS) - is the speaker at the 13 Nov 2018 General Membership Meeting of the Northern Neck Master Naturalists. Her topic is "Waves, Tides, and Currents: What's Pushing the Waters Around in Virginia.” The presentation is about the physical and geological “geography” of Chesapeake Bay and how waves, tides, and currents play an important role in defining the coastal regions of Virginia.
