BTC 13: BioBlitz at Wilna Tract of the Rappahannock River Valley NWR

  • Wilna Lodge & Pollinator Garden 366 Wilna Road Warsaw, VA, 22572 United States (map)

As was previously announced, the 2019 Training Class of eighteen people will have their final event (other than Graduation) this Saturday from 9 am until 2 pm at the Wilna tract near Warsaw.

We will be a BioBlitz type exercise.  This is not a test – it is a fun exercise to get them to observe, make notes, learn and share.  We will be in groups to look at the different environments at the refuge. We will meet inside for a few minutes, then head outside to do our thing, then return to the inside to show and tell as well as eat lunch.  And then a wrap-up.

We would like to have other Master Naturalists join us – some have volunteered and we welcome everyone.  This is an exercise for all of us to learn and share.  No experience necessary – those of us on the curriculum committee want other Certified Master Naturalists to assist and learn with everyone.

I have attached some details if you are unfamiliar with the BioBlitz.  Please let me know if you are interested.  If you have mentioned to any of us that you would like to join in and have not heard directly from me, please let me know.  I will send you more details.
