NNMN General Membership Meeting: Come-Heres: Invasive and Introduced Flora and Fauna

The session will be from 1:15PM to 2:45PM at Murphy Hall at Westmoreland State Park.

A panel discussion with planned audience participation will discuss invasives and introduced species impacting the Northern Neck, Middle Peninsula  Virginia, and the Chesapeake Bay Watershed.  Unfortunately the list of invasives is growing - Coyotes, Mute Swans, Tree of Heaven, Spotted Lantern Fly, Blue Catfish, Purple Loosestrife, Zebra Mussels, House Sparrows, Northern Snake Heads, Giant Hog Weed, etc. 

The panel discussion will cover:

  • Definitions of Invasives and Introduced species
  • Management efforts to identify and control invasives and introduced species
  • A selection of the more infamous invasive or introduced Animals, Plants, Birds, Marine Life, and Insects will be discussed
